Dindigul: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Udhaya Kumar .M from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) won the elections by a margin of 127845 votes. The polling / voting in Dindigul constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Pattali Makkal Katchi#s K. Jyothi and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s P Velusamy

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

Out of the 18 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Dindigul, 16 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Udhaya Kumar .M of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as he defeated Gandhirajan S by a margin of 127845 votes.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defeated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate with a difference of 20343 votes. Here, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Sreenivaasan, C. attained 294794 votes and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate Chandrasekar, S. bagged 274451 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defeated TMC(M) candidate with a difference of 15199 votes. Here, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Sreenivaasan C. attained 276106 votes and TMC(M) candidate Chitthan N.S.V. bagged 260907 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, TMC(M) candidate defated All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TMC(M) candidate Chitthan.N.S.V. attained 444858 votes and ADMK's Sreenivaasan.C bagged 176944 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, ADK candidate defated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate C. Srinivasan attained 416652 votes and DMK's K. Maya Thevar bagged 192235 votes.
