Chikkballapur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, M Veerappa Moily from Indian National Congress (INC) won the elections by a margin of 9520 votes. The polling / voting in Chikkballapur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s B N Bachchegowda and Congress Party#s Dr. M. Veerappa moily

Chikkballapur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 17 out of the 28 parliamentary seat with 43 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 9 seats with a 40.8 percent vote share.

The total voter turnout was 76.18% Lok Sabha percent with 77.45% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 19 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Chikkballapur, 16 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of M Veerappa Moily of the Indian National Congress as he defeated B N Bache Gowda by a margin of 9520 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Janata Dal (Secular) candidate by a margin of 60022 votes INC candidate R.L. Jalappa had got 376204 while JD(S) got Shashi Kumar votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated Janata Dal (United) candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate R.L. Jalappa attained 422587 votes and JD(U)'s N.Ramesh bagged 211401 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate R.L.Jalappa attained 360761 votes and JD's C.Byre Gowda bagged 233706 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 16814 votes. Here, JD leader R L Jalappa attained 337542 votes and Indian National Congress candidate V Muniyappa bagged 320728 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate V. Krishna Rao attained 309614 votes and JD's R.L. Jalappa bagged 206243 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate V.Krishna Rao attained 367638 votes and JD's Chandrashekara bagged 230750 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JNP candidate with a difference of 44314 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader V. Krishna Rao attained 282279 votes and JNP candidate R. L .Jalappa bagged 237965 votes
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate S.N. Prasan Kumar attained 234172 votes and JNP's Lakshminarasimhaiah bagged 87229 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BLD candidate with a difference of 48474 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader M. V. Krishnappa attained 207589 votes and BLD candidate G. Narayana Gowda bagged 159115 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 51515 votes INC candidate K. Changalaraya Reddy had got 127047 while IND got B. V. Narayana Reddy votes.

एबीपी न्यूज के सर्वे के मुताबिक इस बार छत्तीसगढ़ में भारी उलटफेर हो सकता है. पिछली बार यानी 2014 के चुनाव में बीजेपी ने राज्य की 11 में से 10 सीटों पर जीत हासिल की थी. लेकिन इस बार स्थिति बदल सकती है और राज्य की 11 में से 8 सीटें कांग्रेस के खाते में जाती दिख रही हैं. वहीं बीजेपी को छत्तीसगढ़ में सिर्फ 3 सीटों से संतोष करना पड़ सकता है.

मध्य प्रदेश के फाइनल सर्वे के मुताबिक राज्य की 29 लोकसभी सीटों में से 24 सीटों पर बीजेपी जीत हासिल करती दिख रही है. वहीं कांग्रेस के खाते में पांच सीटें जाती दिख रही हैं. 2014 के चुनाव में कांग्रेस ने गुना और छिंदवाड़ा सिर्फ इन्हीं दो सीटों पर जीत हासिल की थी. इस बार के चुनाव में कांग्रेस को गुना, दामोह, छिंदवाड़ा, धार और ग्वालियर की सीट मिलती हुई दिख रही है.
