UP Board Exams: Several Caught For Cheating, Impersonating Candidates

UP board exams, started 24 February, have seen 16 students caught cheating. Thursday saw 10 more, including 6 impersonators, arrested.

UP Board Exam 2025: Thursday, March 6, marked the seventh day of the UP Board High School and Intermediate examinations. While Class-10 students appeared for the Retail Trading exam, Class-12 candidates appeared for Music (Vocal, Instrumental) and Dance exams in the morning shift. Meanwhile, the second shift saw Mobile Repair exam being held for Class-10 students and Physics, Psychology, Pedagogy, and Logic exams for Class-12 candidates.

As many as 1,848,835 students were registered for the examinations in both shifts. Of these, 143,608 students were absent. 1,705,227 students appeared for the examinations in both shifts on Thursday. Today's exams were conducted peacefully across all districts of the state. No irregularities have been reported.

No examinee was caught cheating in the High School examination on Thursday. However, one examinee was caught cheating in the Class-12 examination. A total of 16 students have been caught cheating so far in the UP Board examinations, which began on February 24. FIRs were filed against a total of 10 people on Thursday, including six impersonators and four others.

STF Arrests 4 Impersonators

A total of 51 FIRs have been filed so far regarding the UP Board examinations. On Thursday, four persons posing as candidates were arrested by the Special Task Force of the Uttar Pradesh Police at an examination centre in Azamgarh, while one impersonator each was arrested in Ghazipur and Auraiya. FIRs have also been filed against four individuals for attempting to cheat at an examination centre in the Prayagraj district.

Bhagwati Singh, Secretary, UP Board, said that strict surveillance is being maintained during the UP Board examinations. Students are being thoroughly checked before entering the examination centres.
