Over 4,000 Students Selected For RGUKT IIIT Admissions 2025; Girls Dominate, Majority From Govt Schools

RGUKT Andhra Pradesh has announced its IIIT programme selection list for 2025-26, admitting 4,040 students from over 50,000 applicants. Notably, 69% of selected students are girls.

In a significant milestone for higher education in Andhra Pradesh, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) has released the final selection list for its prestigious IIIT programme for the academic year 2025-26. A total of 4,040 students have secured admission across the university's four campuses — Nuzvid, RK Valley, Ongole, and Srikakulam — following a competitive admission process that drew more than 50,000 applications.

Among the selected candidates, girls outshone boys, making up a remarkable 69.01% of the total. The admissions committee, chaired by University Chancellor K. Madhu Murthy, highlighted several top-performing students, including Kotlo Lakshmi Narasimha Reddy (Sri Satya Sai district), Angadi Pavani Chandrika (Palnadu), and Kancharana Jyothsna (Srikakulam), among others.

An overwhelming 94.78% of those admitted hail from government schools, while only 5.22% come from private institutions, underscoring the government's push to make quality education more accessible to underprivileged students.

The RGUKT Selection Merit List 2025 and provisional call letters are now available for download on the official portal — https://admissions25.rgukt.in. Selected students can also access the information through the Andhra Pradesh government's Mana Mitra WhatsApp service at 95523 00009.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh's Minister for Human Resources Development, congratulated the successful candidates. "Out of 50,541 applications, 4,040 students have been selected, excluding special categories. My best wishes to all," he wrote, reiterating the state's commitment to education equity.

Certificate Verification Begins June 30

All shortlisted candidates are required to participate in the upcoming certificate verification process, which kicks off on June 30, 2025. Students must report to their respective campuses with original documents as outlined in their call letters. Failure to comply may result in disqualification from admission.

The final date for reporting to the allotted campus is July 14, 2025. A separate admission round will be held later for applicants under special categories.
