NEET 2020: MCC To Announce Counselling Dates Soon; Know The Steps For Admission In Preferred College
The NEET results were announced on October 16 after a considerable delay due to the pandemic. Now qualified candidates can apply for counselling which is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
NEET 2020 Results: After a considerable delay, the NEET results were finally announced on October 16. This year 18-Yr-Old Shoyeb Aftab From Odisha made NEET history by scoring perfect 720/720. He landed an All India Rank 1 in NEET 2020 and also became the first student from Odisha to top the NEET examination.

Those candidates who qualified in the exams can now proceed to apply for NEET counselling which is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). There are three rounds including a mop-up round which is organised if seats are left vacant. This round is done deemed/ central university and ESIC college admissions. A report by NDTV says that this year around 235 institutes will participate in the counselling process. Around 317 MBBS seats and 22 dental seats will be filled.
The dates for counselling which will be held online this year has yet to be announced by the MCC.
A report by Times Now says that the number of seats in the participating medical colleges in AIQ counselling has been increased this year. This has also impacted the number of seats available and it has reached 4591 from 4064.
Here's what has to be down for NEET admissions 2020
- Register at the MCC- Candidates will have to register on the official website mcc.nic.in by filling in the required details such as academic results, contact, personal details etc.
- Fee Payment- Once details for registration has been completed, candidates will have to pay non-refundable registration and a refundable tuition fee. The registration fee for the General category is Rs. 1000, while that for SC/ST/OBC, it is Rs. 500.
- Lock College Preferences- candidates can proceed to select their preferred colleges and course. These choices will be used for seat allotment depending on the rank, reservation criteria, etc.
- Seat Allotment- After a sat is allotted the candidate will have to report to the college on or before the given date and time.
