Maharashtra Likely To Open Schools For Classes 9 To 12 From November 23; Know All About It
The Maharashtra government is likely to resume school classes this month from November 23. Initially, classes will be held for classes 9 to 12.
New Delhi: The Maharashtra government is likely to open schools from November 23 for students in class 9, 10, 11 and 12 after more than 9 months. Schools were shut due to the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting nationwide lockdown. According to media reports, Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has informed that after this step they might consider starting other classes too.

According to a report by Times of India, classes will be held in two shifts in a day or on alternate days and a maximum of 20-30 students will be seated in a classroom with a one-meter distance between each. Students, teachers, and staff will also have to mandatorily wear a mask.

- Students will have to bring the written consent from parents.
- Online education will continue for children who will not be able to attend schools
- The 10th and 12th class examination will be held in May instead of March
- School holidays in Maharashtra have been extended by nine more days and will now be from 7 November to 20 November.
- Online education will be closed during the holidays
- Grades of students will not depend on attendance
