Maharashtra Likely To Open Schools For Classes 9 To 12 From November 23; Know All About It

New Delhi: The Maharashtra government is likely to open schools from November 23 for students in class 9, 10, 11 and 12 after more than 9 months. Schools were shut due to the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting nationwide lockdown. According to media reports, Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has informed that after this step they might consider starting other classes too. According to a report by Times of India, classes will be held in two shifts in a day or on alternate days and a maximum of 20-30 students will be seated in a classroom with a one-meter distance between each. • Online education will continue for children who will not be able to attend schools
• The 10th and 12th class examination will be held in May instead of March
• School holidays in Maharashtra have been extended by nine more days and will now be from 7 November to 20 November.

The report also said that an SOP for school reopening is awaiting approval by the Maharashtra chief minister A decision on the reopening of colleges will be taken after Diwali. At present total Covid 19 cases in Maharashtra have crossed the 17 lakh mark but daily cases seem to be reducing. A report by PTI says that the number of single-day infection cases has come down in the range of 4,000 to 7,000 in the last couple of weeks after witnessing 20,000-plus daily cases for a sustained period in September.
