Bihar Govt Has Fixed New Target Of 12 Lakh Government Jobs By 2025: Nitish Kumar

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar announced a new target of 12 lakh government jobs for youth by 2025, highlighting the state's progress and commitment to inclusive development.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced on Thursday that the state government has set a new goal of providing 12 lakh government jobs to the youth by next year. Speaking after hoisting the tricolour at Gandhi Maidan, Kumar emphasized Bihar's progress, noting the state's high growth rate and commitment to inclusive development.

Kumar stated, "Previously, we promised 10 lakh government jobs for our youth, but now we've set a new target of 12 lakh jobs before the 2025 assembly elections. The state government is actively working towards this goal."

Under the 'Saat Nischay Part-2' initiative, launched in 2020, the state had initially aimed to provide 10 lakh government jobs and create 10 lakh employment opportunities. "So far, we have already provided government jobs to around 5.16 lakh people, and the process is underway to provide 2 lakh more jobs," he said.

Kumar further highlighted that the government has exceeded its target of creating 10 lakh employment opportunities, having already established over 24 lakh. He added, "By next year, we will create an additional 10 lakh employment opportunities."

Without directly naming anyone, Kumar criticized opposition leaders for attempting to take credit for job creation while sharing power with him. "Some people claim that no recruitment was happening until they intervened, but it was my initiative to promise 10 lakh jobs, and we are delivering on that promise," he asserted.

Addressing the special package recently announced by the Centre, Kumar expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the package, which includes various developmental and infrastructure projects across sectors like road construction, industries, health, and tourism. "We have long advocated for special category status or a special package for Bihar, and we thank Modi Ji for delivering this," Kumar said.

On the law and order front, Kumar reiterated his government's commitment to maintaining the rule of law and fostering social harmony. "We are focused on development and ensuring the rule of law in every part of Bihar. The strength of the police force will be increased by 2.27 lakh to further improve law and order," he concluded.
