Delhi Govt Schools To Remain Closed From Jan 1 To 15 For Winter Vacation — Details

Delhi Government schools Under DoE will remain closed during winter vacation from 1st January 2023 to 15 January 2023. Remedial classes for classes 9 to 12 to be available from January 2 to 14, 2023.

The Directorate of Education, Delhi has announced the closure of schools during winter break/vacation from 1st January 2023 to 15 January 2023. However, to revise the syllabus and enhance the learning level/academic performance of the students, remedial classes would be available for classes IX to XII. These classes would help students in revising the basic concepts of the subjects from an examination point of view.

The Schedule of the Remedial classes is given below: 

Period: 02.01.2023 to 14.01.2023

Morning Timings:

Time Period
8:30 to 9:30 1st
9:30 to 10:30 2nd
10:30 to 10:50 Recess
10:50 to 11:50 3rd
11:50 to 12:50 4th

Evening Timings: 

Time Period
1:30 to 2:30 1st
2:30 to 3:30 2nd
3:30 to 3:50 Recess
3:50 to 4:50 3rd
4:50 to 5:50 4th

Notably, in lieu of the extreme cold weather and sweeping North India, several states have revised their school timings. The Uttar Pradesh government recently revised school timings in several districts owing to the harsh weather conditions. The district administration of Ghaziabad, Lucknow have announced revisions in school timings. 

Schools in Lucknow would now operate from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM up to December 31. On a similar note, the Ghaziabad District Administration has directed all schools, madrassa education board, sanskrit schools and council school for classes 1 to 12 to commence classes from 09:00 AM to ensure student safety in the wake of accidents caused by low visibility.
