CBSE 12th Physics Exam Paper Analysis: Students And Experts Draw Mixed Reactions

Students and teachers said that the CBSE 12th Physics Exam Paper had clear conceptual questions which were mostly from NCERT.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Physics Class 12 board exam today, Mar 4, 2024. Since the exam has concluded, candidates might be eager to run through the exam paper analysis. The CBSE 12th Physics Exam Paper was held from 10:30 am today, and candidates were allowed a maximum time limit of three hours to answer all questions. 

The Class 12 Physics Board exam has generated mixed responses from subject experts and students, highlighting strengths and weaknesses. The exam analysis provided below reveals additional insights into the Class 12 Physics exam. 

Harish Bisht, the Head of Department for Physics at Shiv Nadar School in Gurgaon, said the paper had a balanced approach. He noted that questions were directly sourced from NCERT, straightforward derivations, and clear conceptual questions made it accessible to candidates who had a basic understanding and had thoroughly studied the NCERT textbook. Bisht's positive assessment suggests that the paper aligned well with the prescribed syllabus, ensuring fairness in assessing candidates' knowledge and understanding.

 However, Rachna Arora, a Senior Years Educator from Shiv Nadar School in Noida, offered a contrasting perspective on the CBSE 12th Physics Exam paper held today. She highlighted that while most of the paper consisted of difficult questions, about 35% was straightforward. Rachna pointed out that some numerical questions, especially those requiring three and 2-mark answers, posed considerable difficulty. Arora's exam analysis suggests that while the paper maintained some balance, it leaned towards being more challenging.

Arijit Sinha, a student from Shiv Nadar School in Noida, echoed Arora's sentiment regarding the paper's difficulty level. Even Sinha found the numerical questions particularly challenging, indicating that Section E was both simple and lengthy. Overall, the exam tested the students' skills and preparation.
