JP Nadda Slams AAP For Calling Swati Maliwal Assault Case 'A BJP Plot'

BJP president JP Nadda has hit out at the AAP for accusing the BJP of conspiring with Swati Maliwal to entrap Kejriwal. He also accused the AAP of lacking credibility and having a culture of violence.

BJP national president JP Nadda has slammed the AAP for accusing it of hatching a conspiracy with Swati Maliwal to entrap Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Nadda said the Aam Aadmi Party had lost all credibility and developed a culture of assaulting people at Kejriwal's home.

JP Nadda said, "Aam Aadmi Party is a party built on the foundation of lies and its credibility is not even zero; it is in minus. Today, Arvind Kejriwal has been exposed in front of the people of the country and the people of Delhi, he has been exposed in every way." Referring to a video of Kejriwal seemingly moving the microphone to avoid a question on the Swati Maliwal assault case, Nadda sought to ask the Delhi CM: "If this conspiracy has been hatched by BJP then why were you moving around the mic [during the press conference in Lucknow]? Why are you silent? What is stopping you?"

"We never spoke to her [Swati Maliwal], nor did anyone from our party speak to her. This is not how we function. We are very straightforward. Now their theft has been caught...He has no credibility, his party also has no credibility. They can stoop to any level, any allegation..."

He further said: "The culture of the Aam Aadmi Party shows that they call people to their homes and beat them up. Earlier, the Delhi Chief secretary was thrashed at his home." Nadda was referring to the 2018 case when Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash alleged that he was assaulted by AAP MLAs during a meeting at the Chief Minister's Bungalow.

An FIR was lodged against AAP MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal. Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and several MLAs were questioned in the case and a charge sheet was filed against them. However, the Delhi High Court in 2022 gave a clean chit to all of them and framed charges against Khan and Jarwal.

Swati Maliwal's Medical Report

The medical examination report of Swati Maliwal, who claimed that she was assaulted by Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar on Monday, is out. The medico-legal case report was prepared after examining Swati Maliwal at the Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Centre in AIIMS-Delhi.

The report mentioned two bruises of the size of 3x2 centimetres and 2x2 centimetre over the "proximal left leg dorsal aspect"
and over Maliwal's "right cheek below her right eye", respectively.

In her FIR, Swati Maliwal said that Bibhav Kumar attacked her without any "provocation". She said Kumar repeatedly abused, slapped, and kicked her. Later, in a jerky cellphone video, Maliwal could be seen sitting on a couch at the CM's home and refusing to leave until the police arrived. She was also heard hurling abuses, purportedly at Kumar.
