Delhi: Fire Breaks Out At Chemical Factory In Alipur Area, 16 Fire Tenders Rushed To Spot

12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse it, reported news agency ANI.

New Delhi: A massive fire broke out in a chemical factory in Delhi's Alipur area on Sunday. 16 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse it, reported news agency ANI.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Earlier on Monday, a fire had broke out at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, in an endoscopy room. Eight fire tenders were rushed to the hospital.

The fire services received a call at 12 noon regarding the blaze on the second floor at the old Raj Kumari OPD of the main AIIMS building. The fire was brought under control after 40 minutes.

"A fire call was received from the emergency ward of AIIMS at 11.54 hours. Total 8 fire tenders rushed to the site," Delhi Fire Services Director Atul Garg had told reporters.

"31 patients of AB-2 ward were shifted to ICU and AB-7 ward. 70 patients were also shifted from emergency area to other facilities. No casualties/injuries were reported and later confirmed with the security control room. All efforts are being made to bring back normalcy in medical services at the earliest," AIIMS said in a statement.

A senior doctor had told PTI, "When the fire broke out, two patients were undergoing a procedure in the endoscopy room. These two patients along with around 80 others in the waiting area were evacuated."

Doctors, nursing staff and guards had to break some of the glass windows on the second floor to allow the smoke to escape.

In another incident, a fire erupted following gas leakage from a pipeline in Greater Noida on August 3. According to PTI, the gas leakage was allegedly due to an unauthorised excavation at an open site.

As per Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey, no person was injured in the incident. However, a motorcycle got charred.
