UP: Ex-Lover Kills, Chops Off Woman's Body Into Six Pieces. Held In Encounter
The accused, Prince Yadav had planned Aradhana’s murder with his parents, cousin Sarvesh and other family members out of resentment as she married someone else and not her.
New Delhi: A man has been arrested by the Police in the killing of a woman whose chopped body was found in a well in Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh district, said the officials on Sunday, reported news agency PTI. As per the report, accused Prince Yadav was hit by a bullet in a gunfire encounter with the Police on Sunday when he was taken to a spot for the recovery of the head of the woman, the police said in a statement.
As per the report citing police statement, Yadav had concealed a country-made pistol at the spot and pointed it at police personnel in an attempt to flee from their custody.
The incident came to the fore on November 15 after some villagers found the body inside a well located outside Paschimi village.
The body of the woman, who was later identified as Aradhana, was found in a semi-naked condition, and seemed to be two to three days old, Superintendent of Police (Azamgarh) Anurag Arya had earlier said.

As per the report, Yadav had planned Aradhana’s murder with his parents, cousin Sarvesh and other family members out of resentment as she married someone else and not her.
Yadav had an affair with Aradhana — stated to be in her twenties and a resident of Ishaq Pur village in Azamgarh district — who got married earlier this year to someone else, the report added.
On November 9, Yadav took Aradhana out on pretext of visiting a temple. When they reached there, with the help of Sarvesh, Yadav strangled her in a sugarcane field. The two men then cut her body in six parts, packed them in a polythene bag, and threw it into a well, the police said, quoted by the news agency.
