Man In Indore Booked As Partner Files FIR After Watching 'The Kerala Story': Cops
According to the police, the woman lodged the First Information Report (FIR) following an altercation with the man after watching "The Kerala Story."
New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Police has arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly raping a woman he was in a relationship with, news agency PTI reported on Tuesday. The police said the accused allegedly forced her to change her religion and was mentally harassing her, the report said citing police.
Khajrana police station in-charge Dinesh Verma told ANI, "A girl, who was in a live-in relationship with one Faizan, lodged a complaint that Faizan was pressurizing her to convert to Islam in order to marry him. Faizan also thrashed the girl when she refused. They were living in a live-in relationship for the last 7-8 months."
According to the police, the woman lodged the First Information Report (FIR) following an altercation with the man after watching "The Kerala Story."
"The woman said she and the man recently went to watch 'The Kerala Story' film. After watching the film, the duo had an altercation. She approached the police & lodged an FIR," Verma said, according to ANI.

The complainant was living with the man "after she fell into the trap of love under the pretext of marriage", Dinesh Verma said quoting the FIR, reported PTI.
According to Verma, the man was arrested under provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act 2021, which prohibits conversion by force or cheating, and the Indian Penal Code (IPC), reported PTI.
The accused man, educated till class 12, is unemployed, while the victim woman is highly educated and works in a private company, he said, adding that she had met the man four years ago while studying in a coaching institute.
"All the allegations are being thoroughly investigated," Dinesh Verma added, as per PTI.
