Delhi Weather News: As temperatures continue to rise in the national capital, residents are feeling the warmth in the air. Some have even shed their winter wardrobe already. However, winter is not yet over, as another cold spell could make a comeback soon.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), an active western disturbance could lead to changes in the weather, including rainfall, which may bring down the temperature. "Rise in maximum temperatures by 2°C during next 3 days and fall by 2-3°C thereafter over Northwest India," the IMD said in a bulletin.
Fog Forecast In Delhi
The IMD has predicted foggy conditions on Tuesday, February 18. "Smog or mist likely in the morning. Partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 28 and 11 degrees Celsius respectively," the IMD stated in a bulletin.
When Will It Rain In Delhi?
Cloudy skies are expected in Delhi on February 19 and 20, with chances of light rainfall over the next two days. Fluctuation in weather conditions is likely to continue till the weekend.
Monday was the second warmest day of 2025 so far, with the maximum temperature reaching 29 degrees Celsius — 4.6 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 11.2 degrees Celsius. The warmest day of 2025 till Monday was February 11, when the maximum temperature reached 29.7 degrees Celsius.
Air Pollution In Delhi
Humidity levels fluctuated between 100% and 42%. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 231 at 4 PM, placing it in the ‘poor’ category. At 5.30 AM on Tuesday, the overall AQI was 242, as per the Early Warning System (EWS).
AQI levels between 0-50 are considered ‘good,’ 51-100 ‘satisfactory,’ 101-200 ‘moderate,’ 201-300 ‘poor,’ 301-400 ‘very poor,’ and 401-500 ‘severe.’ Forecasts indicate a possible rise in pollution levels in the coming days.
