BSE’s Trading Holiday List: What to Expect

Every year, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) publishes a detailed list of days when trading will be suspended. This list covers a variety of occasions, including national holidays, major festivals, and regular weekends.

While the markets are typically closed on Saturdays and Sundays, exceptions are occasionally made for special events such as the Union Budget presentation. By referring to this calendar, investors can stay updated on market closures and organise their trading plans more efficiently, ensuring there are no surprises when the markets shut for a holiday.

In May, the stock market will observe 10 holidays. Investors will not be able to place any trades in the market during these days. Apart from weekend holidays, the markets will also remain closed for Maharashtra Day.

The stock markets will be remain closed on May 1, on account of Maharashtra Day. Further, markets will remain closed for weekend holidays in the month, however, there will be no long weekend holidays for the stock market in May.
