In January, the stock market will observe eight holidays. Investors will not be able to place any trades in the market during these days. National holidays like Independence Day and Republic Day are also observed as holidays in the stock market. However, in 2025, the Republic Day falls on a weekend, meaning investors will only get 1 holiday for the weekend and not a separate one for January 26, 2025.

Stock Markets Closed On January 1, 2025?
The stock markets will be open on the first day of 2025 and investors will be able to place trades as usual on the day. While the markets remained closed to mark the festival of Christmas on December 25, 2024, the day of New Year, January 1, 2025, will be a regular working day for the exchanges.
