In the last trading session on Friday, the two major equity benchmark indices, the Sensex and Nifty, continued their upward trajectory for the ninth consecutive session, reaching new all-time highs

In September, the stock market will remain closed for nine days. These nine days include four Saturdays and five Sundays, which are standard non-trading days for the market. According to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) website, there are no holidays on weekdays during September.

In September 2023, there was an additional stock market holiday that fell on a weekday. This holiday was observed in celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. However, in 2024, Ganesh Chaturthi falls on a weekend, so there will be no weekday holidays affecting the stock market this year. The NSE and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) generally remain open nearly every day of the year except for the listed holidays.

List Of Stock Market Holidays For Remaining 2024:

  1. Gandhi Jayanti: The stock market will be closed on October 2, 2024, in observance of Gandhi Jayanti.
