Tennis Legend Rafael Nadal Joins Infosys As Global Brand Ambassador

Infosys and Nadal’s coaching team will develop an “AI-powered match analysis tool”, as part of the partnership.

IT services firm Infosys on Thursday announced that tennis legend Rafael Nadal will be the company’s new brand ambassador, as part of a three-year partnership. The Bengaluru-based company revealed in a press release this partnership will mark tennis legend Nadal’s ‘first-ever collaboration with a digital services company’.

Nadal will be the brand ambassador for Infosys’ Digital Innovation, the company informed in the release. Infosys and Nadal’s coaching team will develop an “AI-powered match analysis tool”, as part of the partnership. This tool will help Nadal’s coaching team to keep track of the player’s live matches and gain valuable insights from the game. This will allow them to simultaneously compare Nadal’s current data on the court along with historical data from earlier matches.

Commenting on the partnership, Nadal said, “I’m very happy to work closely with Infosys, as they work to not only evolve the experience of tennis to the times, but also empower people in our communities to be part of a brighter future. Infosys has served as the digital innovation partner for the ATP Tour, Roland-Garros, Australian Open, and The International Tennis Hall of Fame, the company noted in the release. In addition to working with data analytics and digital experiences, the company has provided video and statistical analysis platforms to players and coaches.

Infosys’ CEO and Managing Director, Salil Parekh, welcomed the partnership and said, “It is an honor to welcome Rafa – one of the world’s most respected champion athletes and humanitarians – as an ambassador for Infosys. He is someone who personifies the spirit of always evolving, never giving up, utmost dedication and determination to give the very best in every situation.”

Currently, Nadal is suffering from a hip injury which has kept the player away from the court after the Australian Open 2023.
