Infosys Offers Up To Rs 8 Lakh For Hubballi Relocation To Employees; Here's Why

The policy targets employees in band 2 and above who are currently managing project deliveries from any of the company's development centres across India

Infosys, India's second-largest IT firm, has introduced an attractive relocation policy to encourage its employees to move to its Hubballi development centre in Karnataka. The goal is to strengthen its presence in this tier-2 city.

The policy targets employees in band 2 and above who are currently managing project deliveries from any of the company's development centres across India. According to a report by The Economic Times citing an email to employees, Infosys detailed significant financial incentives as part of this initiative.

Employees at band 3 and below are eligible for an initial relocation grant of Rs 25,000, with an additional Rs 25,000 disbursed every six months over a span of two years, amounting to a cumulative Rs 1.25 lakh by the end of this period. Meanwhile, employees at higher bands (4 through 7) have the potential to receive up to Rs 8 lakh, inclusive of the initial relocation allowance, within the same timeframe, as per the report.

This initiative's primary aim is to attract talent from the Mumbai-Karnataka region to explore career opportunities in Hubballi. Moreover, the policy allows employees to continue their current project assignments from Hubballi, leveraging the facility's advanced infrastructure and optimising operational efficiencies.

MB Patil, Karnataka's Minister for Commerce and Industries and Infrastructure, praised the initiative through a social media post on X and wrote, "Hubballi Set for Growth: Infosys Spurs Local Growth with Incentives. I applaud Infosys for offering incentives to employees transferring to its Hubballi campus. This move encourages local talent from the Kittur Karnataka region to explore opportunities closer to home, fostering community ties and local development."

"Infosys' commitment to state-of-the-art campuses and employing thousands of engineers globally exemplifies its leadership and positive impact on regional economies. This initiative not only supports local growth but also showcases Infosys' dedication to innovation and employee welfare in the tech industry,” he added.
