DDA Housing Scheme Sees Record Surge: 1,100 Flats Booked Within 4 Hours

DDA housing scheme: The Rohini area saw the highest demand with more than 450 flats sold. The Ramgarh Colony and Jasola areas also experienced strong sales, with 100 and 41 flats sold, respectively

DDA housing scheme: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has reported an exceptional response to its recently launched housing schemes, Sasta Ghar and Madhyam Vargiya. Within just four hours of the initial booking period, over 1,100 flats across various Delhi locations were sold.

According to DDA officials, the Rohini area saw the highest demand with more than 450 flats sold. The Ramgarh Colony and Jasola areas also experienced strong sales, with 100 and 41 flats sold, respectively. In Narela, over 350 flats were sold, a promising sign given the emphasis placed on improving civic infrastructure by the Lieutenant Governor.

The Sasta Ghar Scheme 2024 aims to offer approximately 34,177 flats under the Low-Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories in Narela, Rohini, Siraspur, Ramgarh Colony, and Loknayakpuram. The flats are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, with eligibility for the EWS category restricted to families with an annual income not exceeding Rs 10 lakh. On the first day of registration, August 22, 750 people registered for the scheme.

The Madhyam Vargiya Housing Scheme 2024, also launched by the DDA, focuses on providing affordable housing for middle-income families. This scheme offers approximately 5,531 flats in Narela, Loknayakpuram, and Jasola.

Additionally, under the Dwarka Housing Scheme, the DDA has made available 173 flats in the MIG, HIG, and higher categories across Sectors 14, 16B, and 19B. As of Tuesday, 1,910 registrations have been received for this scheme.

The General Housing Scheme offers a further 5,400 flats.

Several factors have contributed to the high demand for these schemes:

Affordable Housing: The Sasta Ghar scheme addresses the need for affordable housing among lower-income groups.

Infrastructure Development: Ongoing projects in Narela, such as an education hub, sports complex, and improved connectivity, have increased its appeal.

Delhi Metro Expansion: The approval of the Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor has enhanced Narela's location advantages.

The DDA has streamlined the process with a single-window inquiry system on its website, providing seamless information and ensuring that all property-related and ownership documents are handed over to buyers, thus building customer trust.

The DDA remains committed to offering affordable housing with necessary infrastructure and is dedicated to maintaining and upgrading its properties to ensure quality living conditions. The recent schemes are part of the DDA’s broader mission to provide housing for all, according to their statement.
