Banaras Lit Fest Book Awards 2025: The Banaras Lit Fest, a celebration of literature and culture, has unveiled the shortlist for the Banaras Lit Fest Book Awards 2025. These awards honour outstanding contributions in poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and translation, spotlighting both established and emerging voices from across the country.
The shortlisted books for this year showcase the rich and evolving landscape of Indian literature, delving into themes of identity, history, language, and contemporary discourse. With a commitment to recognising works that challenge, inspire, and deepen literary engagement, the awards aim to uphold India's proud literary heritage.
The winners of the Banaras Lit Fest Book Awards 2025 will be revealed during the festival’s curtain-raiser event on February 23, 2025, at PHDCCI House, New Delhi. Each winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 51,000, along with a certificate and a trophy, which will be formally presented at the Banaras Lit Fest, set to take place from March 7 to 9, 2025, in Varanasi.
"This year’s shortlisted works showcase an incredible range of storytelling, spanning poetry, fiction, and groundbreaking non-fiction. It is heartening to see literature thriving and evolving in such meaningful ways," said Deepak Madhok, president of Banaras Lit Fest.
