Polavaram Project Among Issues Discussed In Meeting Between Andhra CM Jagan Reddy And Amit Shah
During his visit to Delhi on Thursday, CM Jagan had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to release funds of Rs 32,625 crore for various pending bills under the 10th Pay Commission.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Friday and held a discussion on several state concerns, including the Polavaram project and revenue deficit compensation, as per reports. According to government sources, CM Jagan also discussed the amendment of discrimination in selecting beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act, medical colleges and allotment of mines to APMDC. The meeting between the two lasted for almost an hour.
Earlier on Thursday, CM Jagan had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to release funds of Rs 32,625 crore for various pending bills under the 10th Pay Commission, including a financial package for rebuilding DISCOMs, debt waiver for farmers and senior citizen pensions, as per reports.

CM also urged the Prime Minister to finalise the estimates for the Polavaram project at Rs 55,548.87 crore as per the revised estimates. He requested that the drinking water component of the Polavaram project be treated as an integrated element of the overall project framework.
CM Jagan also urged the Prime Minister to approve the establishment of 12 additional medical institutions to serve the 26 districts in the state. He also requested the Prime Minister for the site clearance approvals for the greenfield international airport at Bhogapuram.
