BJP Had No Role In Arrest Of Chandrababu Naidu: AP Unit Chief Purandeswari

During the meeting with Lokesh, Amit Shah enquired about Naidu's health and he also took the details of the case, Andhra Pradesh BJP chief D Purandeswari said.

Andhra Pradesh BJP chief D Purandeswari on Saturday said BJP had no role in the arrest of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in the AP Skill Development Corporation scam case. She said that the claims against BJP were "unnecessarily circulated in media". She asked if BJP was involved then how would Union Home Minister Amit Shah meet TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh.

In a press conference, Purandeswari said, "Our stand is very clear; BJP has no hand in Naidu’s arrest. When some whistleblowers complained, the CID enquired and arrested (Naidu)."

During the meeting with Lokesh, Amit Shah enquired about Naidu's health and he also took the details of the case, she said, as per PTI.

Along with Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana BJP chiefs Purandeswari and Kishan Reddy also met Amit Shah in New Delhi.

She said, BJP flagged the 'procedural lapses' in the arrest of Naidu and alleged that his name was not mentioned in FIR nor was a notice served to him. The BJP 'objected' to it all, she said.

On Friday, the family members of Chandrababu Naidu raised concerns over his health in the prison.

Taking to X, Chandrababu Naidu's wife Nara Bhuvaneswari said, "I am deeply concerned for my husband's well-being, as the Govt of Andhra Pradesh has failed to provide him with the timely medical care he urgently needs while he remains in prison."

She said, Chandrababu Naidu lost 5 kg weight in prison and further weight loss could have severe consequences for his kidneys.

"The overhead water tanks are unsanitary and pose a serious health risk. These dire circumstances create a clear and immediate threat to my husband's life," she said.

Nara Lokesh also tweeted regarding his father's health and alleged that Naidu has a life threat in the prison.
