On Wednesday, YS Sharmila claimed that Congress leaders across the state were detained by the police and placed under 'house arrest' to prevent their participation in the proposed 'Chalo Secretariat' protest scheduled for Thursday.
The protest, announced by Congress, was scheduled to be led by YS Sharmila on February 22. The protest has been aimed at demanding justice for unemployed youth and the student community in the state. Earlier, former APCC president Gidugu Rudra Raju also accused Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of betraying the unemployed youth in the state by not fulfilling his election promise of releasing a job calendar every year and filling all vacant posts through the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, as pledged during the election campaign.
