2 Andhra Transport Officials 'Snatched' Car From Family As CM's Convoy Needed One, Suspended
"This kind of measure will not be tolerated, especially when people are in trouble," the chief minister said.
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday suspended two Road Transport Authority (RTA) officials for an incident in which a family was left stranded on the road after their car was taken away for the chief minister's convoy in Ongole.
CM Jagan was outraged by the many criticisms levelled at the incident. The superiors immediately took action. Home guard P Tirupati Reddy and Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector A Sandhya, who took the car from the family on their way to Tirumala, were suspended.
After the chief minister ordered suspension against erring authorities who forcibly removed the cab and its driver, RTA officials issued suspension orders.
"This kind of measure will not be tolerated, especially when people are in trouble," ABP Desam said, quoting CM Jagan.

Vemula Srinivas of Vinukonda in the Palnadu district and his family, including two ladies and two children, were left stranded on the road in Ongole after officials took away their car and the driver, claiming they needed it for the chief minister's convoy.
On Wednesday night, a family travelling to Tirupati in a cab stopped for dinner in Ongole. Constable told them that the cab is required for the chief minister's convey, which is planned to visit Ongole on April 22.
When the family said they were going to Tirupati for pilgrimage, the official reportedly told them that he could not help but say sorry and took away the Innova vehicle and the driver. The family was forced to spend the night at the RTC bus station in Ongole, which sparked public outrage.
