After a 52-year gap, the Indian hockey team has achieved a remarkable feat by winning the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, following their bronze medal victory at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This is the first time since the 1972 Munich Olympics that the Indian hockey team has secured consecutive bronze medals at the Olympics. Upon returning to India, the team received a hero’s welcome at Delhi Airport, where they were greeted with great enthusiasm. The players were seen dancing to the beats of traditional drums and were adorned with garlands in celebration. Team captain Harmanpreet Singh expressed pride in their achievement, stating, "A medal is a medal; winning for the country is a significant accomplishment. We dreamed of gold, but that dream didn’t materialize. However, we didn’t return empty-handed. Winning two consecutive medals is a record in itself." The nation is celebrating the team's historic achievement with great pride and joy.
