SC to hear Shiv Sena's plea, meanwhile disqualifies 17 Karnataka MLAs
The Supreme Court is likely to hear Shiv Sena's plea, challenging Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari's decision on November 11 to deny its request for three days' time to prove the majority in the Assembly to form a government today.
The Supreme Court in its verdict, upholded Karnataka Speaker's decision, disqualifying 17 MLAs.
The court said that the MLAs can contest by polls.
The former speaker had said in his order that the MLAs cannot contest elections until the term of the current assembly ends in 2023.
