Police Seize Cash-Filled Car with ₹5 Crore Ahead Of Maharashtra Elections 2024 | ABP News
The Model Code of Conduct has been implemented in Maharashtra since October 15 for the assembly elections scheduled on November 20. During this period, the Pune rural police took significant action by seizing five crore rupees on Monday. The cash was confiscated from a car near the Khed-Shivpur Plaza. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut claimed that the cash was seized from the car of a legislator from the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde. An official reported that the police conducted a search operation on Monday evening along the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway near the Khed Shivpur toll plaza. During a blockade, a Toyota Innova car heading towards Satara was stopped. Upon searching the vehicle, police found five crore rupees with the four individuals inside. Following the information, officials from the Income Tax Department also arrived at the scene. The cash was then counted, and the Pune rural police officials stated that an investigation is underway to determine where the money came from and where it was being taken. Additionally, the individuals in the car are being questioned regarding the source and purpose of the cash.
