Election Result 2024: Fadnavis Shoulders Responsibility For BJP's Poor Show, Offers To Resign As Dy CM ABP News
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday shouldered the responsibility for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Lok Sabha polls defeat in the state. He also offered to resign as the Deputy Chief Minister after the party's poor performance. UP and Maharashtra are two important states in terms of Lok Sabha seats, and the BJP has performed poorly compared to 2019 in both states.
The reaction comes after the BJP’s Lok Sabha tally in Maharashtra fell from 23 to 9.
“I take responsibility for the result in Maharashtra. I am requesting the party leadership to relieve me of my responsibilities in the government so that I can work full-time for the party in the upcoming assembly elections,” Fadnavis said.
