Delhi: As Water Crisis Worsens And SC Addresses Water Misuse, Atishi Outlines Steps To Combat Misuse | ABP News
Amid a severe water crisis in the national capital, residents of several areas in Delhi are facing hardships, exacerbated by relentless summer heat. With more Delhiites increasingly reliant on water tankers for relief, a dispute has arisen between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena over allegations of operations by the "tanker mafia" in Delhi.
Delhi's Water Minister, Atishi, has alleged that the number of water tankers deployed by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) was reduced without her knowledge or approval. She claimed this could have benefited illegal private tankers. According to the Times of India, Atishi has urged L-G Saxena to investigate possible collusion between the DJB CEO, the chief secretary, and the tanker mafia.
