Cartoonist Irfan's Class | BJP celebrates BIG win; what about SP? | 13 April 2022
BJP registered a historic victory in the UP Legislative Council elections yesterday. The results were declared yesterday for the elections held on 36 seats in the state, out of which the BJP has won 33 seats. Annapurna Singh, the wife of former MLC Brijesh Singh, won the election from the Varanasi seat by getting 4234 votes. He defeated his nearest rival Umesh Yadav of SP by 3889 votes. Whereas BJP candidate Sudama Patel stood third with 170 votes. Apart from this, 127 ballots have been canceled.
