Breaking News: Big Relief To Hemant Soren As Jharkhand Court Grants Him Bail | ABP News
Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and JMM leader Hemant Soren got a big relief from the High Court on Friday (June 28). Jharkhand High Court granted him bail in the money laundering case related to the land scam. Justice Rangan Mukhopadhyay's court had reserved its verdict on June 13 after completing three days of debate and hearing on the bail plea. Central investigation agency ED had arrested Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Soren on January 31. At present, Soren is lodged in Birsa Munda Central Jail of Ranchi. ED says that Hemant Soren is in illegal possession of 8.86 acres of land in Bariatu. Even though Hemant Soren's name is not recorded in the documents of this land, illegal occupation of the land is a crime under PMLA.
