Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida for a series of bilateral discussions in the national capital on Saturday. Both leaders addressed ways to expand economic and cultural ties between the two countries, according to the Prime Minister's Office. In its first decision on Saturday, the Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, approved the filling of 25,000 vacancies in various state government ministries, including 10,000 in the police force. After presiding over his first cabinet meeting, Mann made the announcement via video message.
