Himachal Pradesh: Tourists throng Shimla after fresh spell of snowfall
The cold wave tightened grip on most parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand as many of the picturesque tourist destination of the state, like Shimla and Manali, received fresh snowfall on Saturday. As news of the snowfall flashed across the plains, joyful tourists started arriving at these hill stations.
The residents of Shimla shivered as the minimum temperature plummeted to 0.7 degrees Celsius because of icy winds that swept through the region. This was notably the season’s lowest recorded temperature that froze Shimla - the “Queen of Hills”, as fondly addressed by the British.
