With this year's Union budget set to be presented on July 23rd, homemakers in Kolkata seek tax relief, subsidies on household essentials, and some concrete steps to keep household inflation under control. Housewife Reshmi Singha says "We made Modi ji our (Prime Minister) with a lot of expectations, so they look towards us middle class people but nowadays when I go to the market, the price of potato and onion is Rs 40-50, what should we do? When we go to the market with Rs 500, not even Rs 5 is left and the gas prices increase so much Therefore, we hope that Modi ji will pay attention to the housewife in the coming budget." With the budget presentation just days away, homemakers in Kolkata eagerly await initiatives that will bring some much needed relief to their households.
