‘Yoga Does Not Help You Lose Weight': Doctors Suggestion Sparks Debate Online

Yoga is one of the best forms of exercises and a way to destress yourself. Several people in the world are taking up yoga to keep their body and mind fit. A combination of physical and mental exercises, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body. It has gained such huge popularity that International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 22. However, a doctor toook to Twitter to debunk some of the common myths associated with particular food items, exercises, including yoga, which has not gone down well with the internet users.
Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, who goes by the name The Liver Doc on Twitter summarized his post with 20 points which debunked some perceptions and myths that we don't let go. From consuming green tea eating jaggery as a healthy substitute to sugar, he quashed all the claims. In fact he also said that by doing yoga one can not lose weight, which actually prompted reactions from Twitter users.
