Woman's Twitter Thread Complaining Of Not Finding Sanitary Pads At PVR Sparks Debate Online

When a friend got her period in the middle of a movie, a woman said she couldn't find sanitary pads in PVR Cinemas. Her Twitter thread sparked an online discussion around the issue.

A woman took to Twitter to share a lengthy thread about the lack of period facilities in public places, sparking an online debate. The user @krispycrab described how her friend got her period in the middle of a movie at PVR. However, she was unable to locate any sanitary products at the cinema.

@krispycrab also mentioned "underdeveloped" public spaces in terms of period health and accessibility in the thread. "It just struck me how underdeveloped we are in terms of menstrual health and access. How come public spaces have yet to adapt and consider setting up sanitary product stations? "She penned a letter.

She also stated that during this time period, health services do not have to be free, but they must be accessible. "It doesn't have to be an unpaid thing; that's a different conversation for another time, but the fact that it wasn't even considered made me think about how neglected period health and accessibility is and how it needs to be addressed," the woman continued.

The woman also claimed that the janitors and other PVR washroom staff were unable to assist them. "Anyway, we asked around in the restroom, staff members, and janitors if they could assist us, but we were unsuccessful. I believe it is past time for this change to be discussed and implemented."

@Krispycrab also tagged PVR cinemas and asked them to consider the situation. She also tagged the Ministry of Health and Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, requesting that such fundamental changes be implemented.
