The same photo was also posted by Kunal Kamra on Instagram, with the same caption. Bollywood actress Richa Chadha, in reply to Kamra's photo with Khalid, posted an emoji of heart.
Many social media users also posted their views on the photo of the duo. One user wrote, "So so so heartwarming to see Umar doing normal person things in normal person atmosphere. More photos of Umar please." Another user commented, "Two beautiful souls in one frame."
Earlier, Umar Khalid had reportedly sought interim bail for 10 days to attend a family wedding. However, he was granted bail by a city court in Delhi for seven days only, from December 28 to January 3, under certain conditions.
During his bail period, Khalid has been forbidden to meet witnesses or any person connected with the case. He is only allowed to meet his friends and family during the period of interim bail. Khalid has also been barred from using social media.
Khalid, who faces charges under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with 2020 North-East Delhi riots, was denied bail by Delhi High Court in October 2022.
He was arrested in September 14, 2020 over allegations of larger conspiracy behind Delhi riots of February 2020, in which fifty-three people were killed and more than 700 were injured. He has been in custody ever since.
