New Delhi: Tech giant Google has created a special doodle as we bid farewell to 2022 and get ready to ring in new year 2023.
The interactive doodle created to mark New Year’s Eve 2022, has the feature where as soon as a user clicks on the animated icon, a new page pops up with party confetti all over the screen. The user can locate the animated confetti cone on the left side of the screen to shoot another confetti again.
"Today's Doodle celebrates New Year's Eve, a time to reminisce about 2022 and look forward to a fresh start in 2023. Whether you're setting off fireworks or setting goals for next year, here's to the great things to come in 2023! 3... 2... 1...” the company said in a statement.
According to the Gregorian Calendar, December 31 is considered as the last day of the year.
At the stroke of midnight, billions of people across the world will celebrate in joy as they welcome the new year.
It is around this time that people make new year resolutions in order to make the most of the coming days and achieve larger goals in life.
After the last two new year celebrations were dampened by Covid-19 pandemic, the year 2023 is likely to be celebrated with the bang, although some countries have been reporting a surge in cases.
China, that is currently grappling with a massive spike in Covid cases, will have subdued new year celebration. This year, no formal event will take place near Shanghai's famed waterfront.
Meanwhile, in a bid to check the Covid cases from spreading in India, the Ministry of Civil Aviation issued revised guidelines for passengers arriving in international flights, ahead of RT-PCR negative test report being made compulsory for travellers from six countries, including China and Thailand.
According to reports, from January 1 a pre-departure RT-PCR negative test report will be mandatory for passengers coming in all international flights from China, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Japan.
