‘Germans Can Surely…’: PM Modi Praises Envoy's Dance Video On Oscar-Winning 'Naatu Naatu'

The German ambassador's video in which he was seen dancing to 'Naatu Naatu' song received a lot of Twitter reactions. Here is what the PM Modi said about it

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday praised the German ambassador to India Dr. Philipp Ackermann for his video where he dances to Oscar-winning song "Naatu Naatu" from SS Rajamaouli's RRR. While sharing a video of the ambassador dancing, Modi said "Germans can surely dance and dance well."

PM Modi tweeted, "The colours and flavours of India! Germans can surely dance and dance well!"

Earlier on March 18, Dr Philipp Ackermann had tweeted, "Germans can't dance? Me and my Indo-German team celebrated  Naatu Naatu’s victory at Oscar 95 in Old Delhi."

He humbly acknowledged that it was far from perfect but fun.

In his Twitter post, the ambassador had tagged the South Korean embassy, actor Ram Chatan, and others in the movie.

The viral video shows Dr Ackermann getting off an autorickshaw in Delhi Chandni Chowk and asking one of the shopkeepers, "Yahi hai India ka world famous? (Is this India's world-famous?).

In response to his question, the shopkeeper gives him a plate of Chandni Chowk's famous Jalebi.

Later in the dance video, Dr Philipp Ackermann gathered on the road with his team members in front of the Red Fort. They started to perform the viral dance steps from the movie, with the "Naatu Naatu" song playing in the background.

The crowd present there cheered them on their efforts to dance and perform.

All this occurred as part of the German ambassador to India Dr Philipp Ackermann's effort to organise a flash mob to dance to the Oscar-winning track 'Naatu Naatu' from SS Rajamaouli's film 'RRR'.

The ambassador also urged others to perform and dance to the song and added the hashtag #embassychallenge.

The post received a lot of reactions on the micro-blogging platform.

Industrialist Anand Mahindra in a tweet, said, "I love the way this is turning into a diplomatic Olympics of one-upmanship! Ok, which nation's embassy is next up?"
