Placed Under House Arrest, TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy Barred From Attending Parliament Session

The house arrest comes in the backdrop of Reddy slamming the TRS govt of Rs 1,000 cr land scam at Hyderabad's Kokapet plotting. In response, TRS called Reddy's allegations 'blackmailing politics'

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Chief A Revanth Reddy has been house arrested in the wee hours of Monday ahead of his journey to Delhi to attend the Parliament monsoon session, which is slated to commence today. It was reported that police were deployed outside his house and he was disallowed to go out of his house.

This house arrest comes in the backdrop of Reddy on Sunday slamming the TRS government of a land scam happening at Kokapet plotting. The TPCC President alleged that there were irregularities of Rs 1,000 crore in the e-auction of Hyderabad's Kokapet and Khanamet plots. This auction was conducted by the state government.

Taking to Twitter, Reddy said: "The land auction by the state government was to benefit ‘FEW’ who grabbed lands for a lesser price thereby causing huge loss to state exchequer. Telangana CMO should immediately cancel the land sale."

In response to Reddy's allegations, Telangana Rashtra Samithi General Secretary B Venkateshwarlu slammed the TPCC chief by saying that he should stop blackmailing politics and blamed that Reddy's allegations are all baseless.

Hours after this war of words between TPCC chief and TRS, Hyderabad police was deployed out of Reddy's house and did not allow him outside ahead of the parliament session commencement on Monday.

Drawing a parallel with Hitler's dictatorship, Congress MP Manickam Tagore said TRS rule in Telangana has become 'Hitler raj'. He condemned Revanth Reddy being placed under house arrest. "Telangana govt has become 'Hitler raj'. What democratic principles do Chandrasekhar Rao &his son want to follow? I condemn Reddy's arrest and demand his release. We will raise this in Parliament": Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Telangana Cong President Revanth Reddy's house arrest.
