Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao Presents Rs 2.90 Lakh Crore Budget
The Telangana Finance Minister presented a Rs Rs.2,90,396 crores budget with a Revenue Expenditure of Rs.2,11,685 crore while capital expenditure was Rs.37,525 crores.
Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao presented the budget in the Assembly on Monday. He commented that Telangana focuses on both development and welfare in the state. The Finance Minister presented an Rs 2,90,396 crores budget with a Revenue Expenditure of Rs 2,11,685 crore while capital expenditure was Rs 37,525 crores.

During the session, Harish Rao mentioned that the ‘Telangana model’, which combines a humanitarian approach, constructive thinking, futuristic planning, and transparent administration, is getting accolades both nationally and internationally.
He also mentioned that the average annual GSDP growth rate of the state from 2014–15 to 2019–20 had increased by 13.2 per cent. In the same period, the growth rate of GDP was lower at 10.2 per cent.
Speaking on the power sector, he said, ‘Telangana has created history by recording the highest growth rate of 11.8 percent in per capita income during the period 2017–18 to 2021–22 among the Southern States.’
Harish Rao stated that after the formation of Telangana, restrictions on the distribution of ration rice to the poor were removed for the welfare of the public, and each member of the family is now supplied with 6 kg of ration rice per month.
