According to local media reports, when asked if Kavitha will be jailed in the Delhi liquor scam, the BJP chief recently told reporters, "Would they kiss her if not arrest her?"
The words drew harsh condemnation from the BRS. Women have also contacted Hyderabad's Begumpet Station House Officer (SHO) to submit a case in response to the state BJP chief's statements.
K Kavitha is being investigated by central authorities for her alleged involvement in the Delhi liquor scam. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is questioning her, and the agency is expected to confront her with an arrested accused, Arun Pillai, who is also her claimed close acquaintance.
Faced with criticism for making 'derogatory' remarks about BRS MLC K Kavitha, Bandi Sanjay's office issued a clarification, stating that the BJP leader's statement was a common phrase used in the Telugu language, which means whether you would appreciate or punish someone who commits a crime, reported news agency ANI.
"Telangana is shocked by Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay's inappropriate words against MLC Kavitha," BRS wrote in a tweet accompanied by Bandi Sanjay posters.
