KCR Asks PM Modi To Sack Assam CM For Remarks On Rahul Gandhi

During Bharatiya Janata Party's rally in poll-bound Uttarakhand on Friday, Sarma had levelled several allegations against former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's alleged remark on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi drew the ire of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao who on Saturday demanded that Sarma be removed from his post by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a public meeting at Raigiri about 55km from Hyderabad, KCR, as quoted by news agency PTI, said, “You sack him (Assam CM). I am demanding. Can a Chief Minister talk like this? There are limits. Are you egoistic? You think people will remain silent?”

Notably, during Bharatiya Janata Party's rally in poll-bound Uttarakhand on Friday, Sarma had levelled several allegations against former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

"Look at their mentality today, General Bipin Rawat who was the pride of Uttarakhand and the nation as well, under his leadership, India conducted a surgical strike in Pakistan. Rahul Gandhi then asked for proof. Have we ever sought proof of which father's son you are? What right do you have to ask for proof from the armed forces," he had said.

Taking potshots at the Assam Chief Minister for his comments, CM Rao further said, “Is this our Indian culture? Is this what has been taught in the Vedas, Mahabharat, Ramayana and Bhagavad Gita? I am asking BJP President Naddaji. Is it our culture?"
