HPE, Danfoss Bring Green Data Centres
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Danfoss have announced a collaboration to introduce HPE IT Sustainability Services -- Data Centre Heat Recovery. This new module intends to help organisations manage and repurpose excess heat as they transition to more sustainable IT infrastructures. The module leverages HPE's scalable Modular Data Centre, which boasts a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.1, significantly better than the traditional data centre PUE of 1.3-1.4. By integrating Danfoss' advanced heat reuse and cooling technologies, the system reduces energy consumption by 20 per cent and boosts cooling efficiency by up to 30 per cent. As AI technologies rapidly expand, the demand for power in IT infrastructures is projected to increase dramatically, with expectations of consuming at least ten times more electricity by 2026 compared to 2023.
