Why Is Meta Shutting Old WhatsApp App On macOS

Meta is advising macOS users to either download the new version from the official WhatsApp website or get it from the Mac App Store before the deadline passes. This update is important for anyone who wants to keep getting new features and updates.
The reason the old macOS WhatsApp is being discontinued is because it was built using Electron technology, which functioned like a web app on Macs and had performance issues. As WhatsApp adds more features and improves, the old version just isn’t suitable for today’s needs.
