New Delhi: January 8 marks the birth anniversary of one of history’s most influential scientific minds, cosmologist and physicist Stephen Hawking. His 80th birthday is being celebrated by tech conglomerate Google with a special animated Doodle.
The two-and-a-half minute Doodle video has physicist's own computer-generated voice and the company said it was used with the approval of the Hawking estate.
The video showcases Hawking's contributions to the universe and also depicts the battle of his life with the neurodegenerative disease.
Google has dedicated a new Doodle in honour of the late cosmologis and has also shared a glimpse of his life journey through a post.
The Doodle also highlights how fascinated he was about greatest mysteries of the cosmos despite being diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease at the age of 21.

Born on January 8 in 1942 in Oxford, England, Stephen William Hawking's groundbreaking work on black holes prompted Cambridge to appoint him as the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, a position held by Isaac Newton in 1669.
His curiosity on how the universe functioned and intellect even earned him the nickname 'Einstein'.
Hawking passed away in 2018.
His family told Google that Hawking would have loved the Doodle and been very entertained to see his long, distinguished life expressed so creatively in this briefest history of all.
