Canva's Subscription-Based Service Is Here

The Australian design software firm, currently hosting its inaugural Canva Create event in Los Angeles, has unveiled a series of updates and new services.

Design software company Canva has introduced its new subscription-based offering, Canva Enterprise, in a bid to address the growing demand from big companies, the media has reported. This launch coincides with a significant revamp of the company's website interface, marking the first major overhaul in a decade. The move comes amidst a heightened focus on generative AI-focused design solutions among rivals like Adobe.

The Australian design software firm, currently hosting its inaugural Canva Create event in Los Angeles, has unveiled a series of updates and new services. These include a redesigned user interface for the website and enhancements to its AI-driven offering, Magic Studio, which were unveiled in October 2023.

This marks a significant milestone for Canva, as it is already used by teams of 95 per cent of Fortune 500 companies. The rollout of Canva Enterprise represents a major effort by the company to further expand its presence among existing enterprise companies, says a report by Money Control.

Melanie Perkins, co-founder and CEO of Canva was quoted as saying: “As demand for visual content soars, navigating organisational complexity is more challenging than ever. We democratised the design ecosystem in our first decade and now look forward to unifying the fragmented ecosystems of design, AI, and workflow tools for every organisation in our second decade.”

Since its launch in October, Canva mentioned that its end-to-end artificial intelligence (AI) enabled offering, Magic Studio, has been used over 6.5 billion times.

In its latest capability additions, Canva has introduced features such as text-to-graphic conversion, enhanced AI design technology for presentations, the ability to convert any design into a custom document, AI-powered highlight cuts for video clips, among other updates.

With more than 185 million monthly active users (MAUs) and an annualised revenue exceeding $2.3 billion, Canva continues to see growth. The company noted that since the introduction of Canva's workplace-focused Visual Suite just over 18 months ago, over 95 million new users have joined the platform. This milestone took the company nearly nine years to achieve.
