“Now that everyone is asking… yes, we’ve been working on an edit feature since last year! no, we didn’t get the idea from a poll. we're kicking off testing within@TwitterBlue Labs in the coming months to learn what works, what doesn’t, and what’s possible,” it tweeted.

Elon Musk, on Monday had revealed that he has a 9.2% stake in Twitter and hosted the poll on the long-awaited feature that the company has been working on.

Retweeting Musk’s poll, Twitter CEO, Parag Agrawal advised users to “vote carefully.”

On April 1, Twitter had tweeted that it is working on an edit button which was largely perceived as an April Fool’s prank. Sharing its own tweet, Twitter said “we weren’t joking.”
