TN CM Stalin Meets Director Bharathiraja In Neelankarai After Ace Filmmaker Gets Discharged From Hospital
Bharathiraja (81) was admitted to the hospital with altered sensorium on August 23, 2022.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin met Kollywood director Bharathiraja at the latter's residence in Neelankarai after he got discharged from the hospital. The director who was suffering from multiple health discomforts was admitted to MGM Healthcare hospital in Chennai on August 23 for treatment.
According to ABP Nadu, Bharathiraja (81) was admitted to the hospital with altered sensorium on August 23, 2022. He was later shifted to the Intensive Care Unit and was provided treatment by a multi-disciplinary team of doctors. After showing improvement in his health, he was shifted to the normal ward.
On Friday, he was discharged after spending 10 days in the hospital.

Against this backdrop, TN CM Stalin met Kollywood director Bharathiraja at his home. He was accompanied by lyricist Vairamuthu and Municipal Administration Minister KN Nehru.
Earlier, Radhika Sarathkumar also offered special prayers and wished him a speedy recovery immediately after the news of his hospitalisation was out. In a tweet, Radhika said, “En iniya director @offBharathiraja avargaley, my special prayer to you to get well soon at the Lourdes church in France waiting to see you soon on my return, miss talking to you 🙏”

Meanwhile, Bharathiraja, who has also acted in over two dozen of movies, last appeared in the recently released movie Thiruchitrambalam, as Dhanush's grandfather. He also attended the audio launch of the movie and gave a speech on the stage.
Bharathiraja directed his debut film 16 Vayathinile in 1977. He is known for shooting movies in live locations as against the earlier tradition of shooting in sets and studios. His blockbuster movies include Alaigal Oivathillai, Sigappu Rojakkal, Nizhalgal and Kizhake Pogum Rail.
